You Gotta Fight For Your Right to Party.

Although I probably could have used this pep talk two days ago, Day 15 is about standing up for yourself. Before you read any further, the rest of this post has nothing to do with the Beastie Boys track.

I often have trouble deciding when standing up for myself is “right” because my first reaction is to get angry. I might even argue well. I have no idea. Because the anger takes over my entire central nervous system.

Maybe I could learn to argue a little quieter. Maybe I should think before I speak. Er. Yell. I think 99% of people wish that. However, I’ve always been a person whose heart is on her sleeve, whether it’s right or wrong. I’m emotional. I’m sensitive. I’m over it.

I’ll continue to work on balancing the angries with having a voice – a well-spoken, reasonable, unshaky voice.

In other news, I’m listening to a live set by Vampire Weekend. That in itself makes life good.
