Books! I’ve Missed You!

I’m currently taking a break from putting things away. I got a bookshelf this weekend (well, two – but one isn’t put together yet)… and it made me so happy! I’m glad my books once again have a home. …Most of them, anyway – there’s still another bin awaiting placement. And I guess technically, I had another shelf at my disposal, but I chose to use that for music-related books and/or notebooks with random scribbles in them. It’s my hope that, when I become rich and famous, I shall have an entire library. Maybe filled with bookshelves from Target. But… I’m not done yet.

Home Decor Is Expensive.

Just spent $300+ at Target, buying things like bathroom shelves and grill pans. Part of me wants to cry, and the other part is rejoicing. I’m determined to not languish away here, but I am also determined to be better with money. I really want to awaken my creativity… I also am not even sure I know how to use a screwdriver. Wish me luck!

A Woman’s Right to Shoes.

With a few days to spare, I still hadn’t found shoes for the wedding I’m standing up in this weekend. I went to two stores yesterday – Target and Payless – hoping to find something cute and cheap; alas, it was not to be. A word about me. I – no self-deprecation meant here – truly am clueless when it comes to fashion. I sort of care, but not enough. I will wear winter jackets and flip flops. I wear green and purple together and I don’t even know if they match. I am a jeans and t-shirt, hair-in-ponytail kind… I’m not done yet.

I Need Mary Poppins.

Sometimes, I don’t know about me. I ended up going to Target around 9:45 last night, which was probably not the best idea. In my exhaustion, I left a bag there; coincidentally, it was the bag that contained vital showering materials so that in the morning I could feel like a human. I passed out on my couch amidst the mess and when my alarm went off at 5am this morning, I became aware of two things: 1. I could not move. I was insanely sore. 2. Even if I could have gotten up, nothing was unpacked. Finding anything to… I’m not done yet.

The Trials and Tribulations of Moving, Part 2

It’s currently 9pm. My new place is a mess, and I don’t feel like doing a goddamn thing. I’m updating from my phone (again); did I mention there’s no internet til Wednesday? Here’s the short version: I woke up for no reason at 3:30am, went to work, came home at noon, movers came, movers moved, I went back to clean the old apartment after all was said and done, I just got back now. Here’s the longer version: When I am old, I can taunt youngins with, “When I was your age, I had to move from one place to… I’m not done yet.
