A Fire Red

“Bitterness is like cancer. It eats upon the host. But anger is like fire. It burns it all clean.” – Maya Angelou

If the above quote is any indication, it turns out anger has some good in it. Not that anger can’t be good, as it is an emotional release… but anger is also anger, which means it has the potential to go downhill fast.

Kind of like my typing in this post.

Anyway, today’s message is to accept anger. And don’t feel guilty for feeling it. Let it do its thing.

It doesn’t mean you have the right to become Hulk or anything, but – just know it’s okay to be angry. As I’m working on my anger issues (read: reactivity) I notice that, a lot of the time, I will apologize immediately after I’ve gotten angry. It almost takes away the justification, if there were any.

… Which a lot of the time, there isn’t.  I really do think some of it is due to hormonal issues (skip the PMS jokes) just because I’ve become keenly aware that (while I still don’t have a good grip on it just yet), I get unbearably, incredibly emotional over even the tiniest things. “I enjoy being a girl!…” except when I don’t.
